Pinoys in China not facing Covid problems; DFA officials hard-hit --- PBBM
While Filipinos in China are not facing any Covid-related problems, foreign service there took the hit from the ongoing surge of cases.

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. revealed this before leaving Beijing, China, concluding his three-day state visit on Jan. 5.
"There are no outstanding problems in terms of the --- our Filipino nationals here in China," he said.
"Ang pinaka-malaking problema yung sa foreign service dahil marami sa mga embassy natin at saka sa mga consulate natin eh talagang tinamaan (The biggest problem is the foreign service because many from our embassy and consulate were really hit)," he added.
The President, however, said that operations in the Philippine embassy and consulates in China were not affected as those who tested positive continue to work from home.
"n fact even the --- even our diplomats, despite the fact that they have been --- some of them have tested positive, they have --- they continue to work from home," he said.
"So I think we have found a way around the lockdown which is really what they are undergoing right now, and well-attended to by the local officials in terms of their health," he added.
Marcos also disclosed that there is also no outstanding problem at the business level there as "few of the briefers that came for the roundtable meeting were Filipinos." One of his last activities in Beijing were three roundtable meetings with Chinese investors.
"So I think especially at the business level, hindi naman --- wala naman tayong nakikitang problema (We don't see any problem). When it comes to the --- I supposed the rest of the Filipino nationals, it’s the same thing. The Chinese people have treated us like neighbors, like brothers. So we do not have any particular problems in that regard," he said.
Meanwhile, the chief executive is not keen on imposing travel restrictions for travelers from China into the Philippines as he believes that the foreign country would not allow Covid-positive passengers to exit China.
