Caloocan LGU generates over 40,000 jobs opportunities for residents in 6 months

The Caloocan City government announced on Sunday, Jan. 8, that it was able to provide 43,892 job opportunities to the city residents from July to December 2022, the first six months of Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan’s term as the city’s chief executive.

The city government said that the opportunities were generated though various employment programs, emergency employment activities, livelihood grants, and free skills training.

Malapitan thanked the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Caloocan City for their dedication in serving the residents by providing job opportunities for them.

PESO Officer-in-charge Ms Violeta Gonzales said the city will continue to coordinate with companies and establishment for the residents to get more opportunities for employment.

She also enumerated some of the city government’s initiatives that can help the people in making a living such as local recruitment activities, livelihood and skills training programs, and the Department of Labor and Employment’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.

TUPAD is a community package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, undereemployed and seasonal workers for 10 to 30 days, according to dole.gov.ph.

"Patuloy po nating isasagawa ang ating mga programa at serbisyo para sa tuloy-tuloy na pagtataas ng kalidad ng pamumuhay ng ating mga mamamayan at pagpapaunlad ng ating lungsod." Malapitan said.

He added that the city government’s accomplishment last year will serve as its basis and inspiration to improve its services for the people in 2023.
