BTS, IVE win grand prizes at 37th Golden Disc Awards

Grammy nominee BTS and rookie girl group IVE emerged as the biggest winners at the 37th Golden Disc Awards held on Jan. 7 in Thailand.

BTS took home the Album of the Year award for “Proof,” released in June last year, their seventh “daesang” or grand prize at the Golden Disc Awards since 2018.

J-Hope accepted the award on behalf of BTS and said he had a drink with the members yesterday.

“The best moment is yet to come. I think these words came about because I want to draw a future together with you. I would like to express my gratitude once again to ARMYs who have been with us for the past 10 years. Thank you so much,” he said.

He added, “By the way, I had a drink with the BTS members yesterday, excluding Jin, who is in the army. It's been a long time since we met for a drink, but I couldn't be happier.”

Girl group IVE, which debuted in December 2021, won the grand prize for Digital Song of the Year for ”Love Dive,” their first “daesang” at the awards.

Unfortunately, only three members of IVE–Wonyoung, Gaeul and Rei–were able to attend the ceremony as the other three members–Liz, Yujin and Leeseo–were confirmed to have Covid-19.

The awardees were divided into two categories: digital song and album.
