FASHION PULIS: Receiver beware

For some celebrities, owning a luxury bag is a way of saying that he/she has made it. A branded bag says a lot, such as a status symbol for the owner. In certain instances, celebrities even benefit from their social media presence and endorsements. Sellers can be generous and send their high-end products for visibility in a celebrity’s account. What is worth more than buying a luxury bag is receiving one for free.

Unboxing has become a trend and social media influencers know that such videos receive as many views as the product itself. Thus, it is no longer surprising for celebrity influencers to make their unboxing videos to maximize the views and visibility of the seller/giver.

Now comes the problem, that is, when netizens view the influencer’s post, they start writing negative and positive comments. Most influencers ignore comments but in the case of Celebrity Influencer (CI), her presentation ought to be given the benefit of doubt.

An eagle-eyed netizen expressed worry that CI might have given space to an inauthentic product that was featured in her social media. The product was eye-catching and liked by celebrities and followers. What worried the netizen was that the product might not be the brand it presents itself to be. Nonetheless, CI might not even know herself that what she had might not be the real thing, especially if it were given as a gift.

Family first

The grapevine is abuzz with rumors over the unexpected movement of Renowned Personality (RP). RP has always been a constant figure in showbiz. While many personalities have resigned or moved to other networks, RP was never thought to join the bandwagon. RP’s actions shocked fans.

Although RP had quietly made the move, the reasons for such were never divulged to the public. The reasons were tucked away, that is, until the rumor mill started moving. No, RP is not moving to another network or exploring another career. Allegedly, the move has something to do with priorities. RP had chosen family over a lucrative career this time. Rumors of RP and her family leaving for overseas are loud.

Going abroad also has strong reasons, but health is the most common. The buzz claims someone in the family needs treatment, which is deemed best abroad. Thus, RP is needed to be with that family member and only by leaving an established career will RP have the time. After all, most of her life her work in the entertainment industry had taken much time. By being with the said family member will give RP the peace of mind knowing presence and love are the best ways for healing.
