Confirmed: 'Wednesday' Addams stays on Netflix for season 2
It’s confirmed. The hit series “Wednesday,” starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, is staying on Netflix.
Netflix confirmed that “Wednesday” has been renewed for season 2, the details of which will be announced later.

Executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar made the announcement through Tudum.com.
“It’s been incredible to create a show that has connected with people across the world. Thrilled to continue Wednesday’s tortuous journey into season two. We can’t wait to dive head first into another season and explore the kooky spooky world of Nevermore. Just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first,” the said.
“ sticks to her guns, and she’s not out to please anybody. Which, as someone who used to be an immense people pleaser, I really respect,” said Ortega about the announcement of more “torture” for her.
“Wednesday,” produced by MGM Television, has set records on Netflix since its premiere on Nov. 23.
According to Netflix, “Wednesday” has become one of the successful shows on Netflix, ranking second on the Most Popular (English) TV list with 1.237 billion hours viewed in its first 28 days on the platform.
More than 182 million households (1.237 billion hours divided by 6.8 hours) have seen the series since its debut.
“Wednesday” reached the one billion-hour mark on its third week, joining “Squid Game” and “Stranger Things 4” as the third title to achieve it within the first 28 days.
It broke the record for the most hours viewed in a week for an English-language TV series on Netflix twice, when it debuted at No. 1 with a record breaking 341.23 million hours viewed, and again in its second week with 411.29 million hours viewed.
“Wednesday” has achieved six consecutive weeks with over 100 million hours viewed on the English TV List to date. On TikTok, #WednesdayAddams has amassed over 22 billion views.
In addition, its soundtrack grabbed the No. 1 spot on iTunes Soundtrack chart where it remained in the Top 10 for three weeks. Wednesday Addams, the artist, now has over one million followers on Spotify.
On Spotify, “Goo Goo Muck” by The Cramps saw a streaming increase of more than 9,500 percent compared to the month prior to the series release.
Wednesday’s iconic dance scene has gone viral on social media. Fan generated content utilizing “Bloody Mary” by Lady Gaga led to a streaming increase of more than 1,800 percent of the song on Spotify compared to the month prior the series release. Even Lady Gaga joined in on the fun.
With over 80 million views and counting, fans can’t get enough of the cast’s reaction to the iconic dance scene video.
Wednesday’s makeup look has been searched for and viewed over 100 million times by fans on TikTok. Wednesday products are in high demand with select items selling out at retailers like Hot Topic, MAC and Cakeworthy.
