Clearing operations under way in Aurora roads hit by landslides

The Department of Public Works and Highways said on Saturday, Jan. 7, that clearing operations are under way on roads in Aurora affected by landslides triggered by heavy rains.

According to the Aurora District Engineering Office, the Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road is one lane passable in the following sections – K0192+200, K0174+300, K0195+400, K0196+200, K0194+500, K0192+400, and K0181+050.

The Diteki River Detour Road is impassable due to high water level.

On the Alfonso Castañeda-Maria Aurora-San Luis Road, K0202+550 is one lane passable due to landslide.

The DPWH said that due to incessant rains and reoccurrence of landslides on the Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road, motorists were advised to take Alfonso Castañeda-Maria Aurora-San Luis Road going in and out of the province.

Fredelito Mingua, chief, Aurora DEO maintenance section, said traffic advisory has been installed and various equipment were deployed to clear areas of landslide.
