Celeb devotees of the Black Nazarene

The Feast of the Black Nazarene will still be celebrated this year despite the absence of the traditional “Traslacion,” “Pahalik” and for the third consecutive time still due to the pandemic.

These will be replaced by the “Pagpupugay” and the “Walk of Faith.”

Officials are expecting a large number of devotees participating in the observance.

Some of them celebrities including the likes of Angeline Quinto, Coco Martin, and Noli de Castro, who are avowed devotees of the holy image.

Angeline has been a devotee since childhood.

Despite making a name for herself in showbiz, she would take time off her busy schedule to observe the same.

Angeline would even join the procession, unmindful of the usually chaotic scene.

Same for Coco, who has been a devotee of the Black Nazarene even before he joined show business.

Noli, on the other hand, has been a devotee for almost four decades.

The veteran broadcast journalist, who will mark his comeback as news anchor of "TV Patrol" starting on Jan. 9, will be anchoring live coverage of the event from the Quirino Grandstand.

“Magkita-kita tayo sa Lunes. Live ho ako sa Quirino Grandstand para sa TV Patrol,” said he in his recent TeleRadyo program “Kabayan.”
