CEBU CITY – Gov. Aris Aumentado on Friday, Jan. 6, distributed food packs to hundreds of families in Bohol province adversely affected by tropical cyclone ‘’Paeng’’ in 2022.
Aumentado led the distribution of food packs in three island-barangays in Tubigon town. Recipients were 322 families from Bagongbanwa Island, 253 families from Mocaboc Island, and 162 families from Bilangbilangan.
He was assisted by Tubigon Mayor William Jao, Board Member Lucille Lagunay, and Carmelita Tecson from the office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development.
Aumentado said he requested the provision of food packs to assist fisherfolk adversely affected by Paeng and the consistent gale warnings issued by the State weather bureau.
“We want to thank the Department of Social Welfare and Development for granting our request. Weather has been bad in recent weeks and that has affected our constituents in island-barangays,” said Aumentado.
Aumentado also held a dialogue with residents of the three barangays to hear their concerns. He assured that the province would allocate a budget to fund their projects.
