CAMP GEN. MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas City – A total of 44 persons were arrested on the first five days of 2023 during the continued implementation of law enforcement operation, the Police Provincial Office here reported.
Batangas provincial director Colonel Pedro Soliba said the arrested individuals were involved in different crimes.
Twenty-one of the arrested were involved in illegal drug trade. They were caught in 20 police operations.
Seized from these drug personalities were 21.82 grams of shabu worth P150,558.
Likewise, service of warrants of arrest by the operatives of Batangas PPO resulted in the arrest of 16 wanted persons.
These included two most wanted in regional level, five most wanted in provincial level, one in city level, and eight other wanted persons.
Six personalities involved in illegal gambling were also arrested in four operations conducted by Batangas police.
Bet money amounting to P2,760 was confiscated from the gamblers. A loose firearm was also confiscated from an arrested person.
“We are committed to ensure that 2023 will be a peaceful and safe year for all Batangueños. Let us work hand in hand to achieve this,” said Soliba.
