Abalos urges killers of Davao City model to surrender

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin ‘Benhur’ Abalos Jr. called on those responsible for the killing of Davao City businesswoman and model Yvonette Plaza to surrender to authorities.

He warned that there is already a reward for the capture of those whose images were captured in the CCTV.

Abalos said that with the CCTV footage, it is highly probable that the mastermind might order to kill them.

The Davao City Police announced earlier the P1 million reward to anyone who can provide information that will identify the riding-in-tandem that shot Plaza to death.

Abalos personally attended the Davao City Police Office conference on Friday, Jan. 6, in connection with the investigation on the Plaza shooting incident.

In a GMA News report, assured Plaza’s relatives that the police will do its best for the immediate capture of the killers including the mastermind.

The victim’s mother, Henrietta Plaza, appealed to authorities to give justice to her daughter, whom she described as a loving and generous person.

“Sana mabigyan ng hustisya si Yvonne para maging panatag din siya at kami rin na mga magulang niya (I hope that justice will be served for Yvonette to give her and us parents peace),’’ the elder Plaza said. (Chito A. Chavez)
