It only took 268 days for Scottie Thompson and Justin Brownlee to find themselves at the center court once again, hoisting a new pair of awards in front of their legion of fans.

In a repeat of history, the dynamic duo once again emerged as the two best players in the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup, bagging the Best Player of the Conference and Best Import awards, respectively, ahead of their Game 4 clash against Bay Area at the Mall of Asia on Friday, Jan. 6.
That replicated the feat they first accomplished together just last season during the 2022 Governors' Cup last April where they also both came out as runaway winners of the top individual honors.
Reigning MVP Thompson added another feather to an already well-decorated hat by amassing a total of 917 points from the stats and votes from the media and players. He bested Kings running mate Jamie Malonzo (673), NorthPort's Robert Bolick (558), San Miguel Beer's CJ Perez (452), and NLEX's Don Trollano (417).
Thompson joined Mark Caguioa, Jayjay Helterbrand and Erik Menk as the only players to win the plum multiple times while playing for Ginebra.
Brownlee, on the other hand, proved to be a cut above the rest, snagging his third Best Import award over a class of imports bevy of NBA-level talent and international play experience.
The 6-foot-5 forward soared over his taller and heftier peers in the mid-season conference which has a 6-foot-10 height ceiling, garnering a total of 1289 points to take the award that further cemented his case as one of the best reinforcements to have played in the PBA.
He bested Nick Rakocevic (940) of Magnolia -- incidentally the same team Ginebra faced and eliminated during the semifinals which eventually allowed Brownlee to clinch the award after advancing to the Finals.
San Miguel Beer's Devon Scott (788) finished at the top 3 of the Best Import race.
Brownlee averaged 28.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 6.8 assists while Thompson had 11.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg, and 5.7 apg through the eliminations and the playoffs.
Both upped their performances in the Finals and played pivotal roles to Ginebra's 2-1 series lead over Bay Area. Thompson and Brownlee look to continue providing their stellar play as the Kings gun for a 3-1 Finals lead against the Dragons as of press time.
