Sibol has now opened its registrations for teams, amateur and professional, to apply to the national team selection where they are playing a tournament set to determine the best team which can fly the country's colors in five esports titles in the biennial meet.

The country is set to defend its gold medal in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang event while Filipino esports athletes also vie podium finishes in League of Legends: Wild Rift, PlayerUnknown’s Battleground: Mobile, Crossfire, and the debuting title Valorant.

Sibol General Manager Jab Escutin reminded the aspiring national team members to take note of the dates of their own tournaments in their respective esport titles as it may coincide with the schedule of Sibol which, aside from SEA Games, are also preparing for the 15th IESF World Esports Championship and the Asian Games.

“With the sheer number of National Events this year, we want to remind players that are registering to please keep in mind the dates of each National Event and the obligations they have to fulfill as Philippine Esports Athletes,” said Escutin.

“This is the best opportunity for aspiring esports athletes to showcase their talents competing against the best of the best in the country for a chance to represent our nation on the biggest esports stages in the world,” he added.

Just like last year, a two-phase tournament is set for each esports titles, the first of which an open tournament where the winners will advance to the second, where it will take on the invited team.

The champions and runners-up then form a pool during a combine where the national team will be selected from.
