P46,314 illegal firecrackers in Region 2 destroyed

CAMP Marcelo Adduru, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Police on Friday, Jan. 6, destroyed illegal firecrackers seized in the New Year at the Police Regional Office 2 Grandstand here.

Brig. Gen. Percival Antolin Rumbaoa, PRO 2 director, said 2,286 illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnics amounting to P46,314 seized from Dec. 31, 2022 to date were destroyed.

He said this was a result of the series of operations conducted by the PNP to strictly implement Republic Act No. 7183 that governs the fireworks industry.

‘’We are all in this together because it is how we envisioned a calm, safe, and friendly Region 2 that could persevere despite any obstacles,’’ Rumbaoa added.

On Dec. 30, the PRO 2 also destroyed illegal firecrackers valued at P59,715.
