
BACOLOD CITY – Illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnics totaling P44,650 confiscated by the police here during the holiday season were destroyed and buried at the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) headquarters on Friday, Jan. 6.
Police poured water on 14 packs of pyrotechnics and eight boxes of firecrackers worth P2,000 seized by Police Station 2 and three improvised cannon or ‘’boga’’ worth P750 seized by Police Station 5.
Also destroyed by water were 59 pyrotechnics worth P6,600, 30 fireworks worth P4,000, 21 whistle bomb worth P1,000, nine baby kamara worth P500, 360 five star worth P3,000, 137 sparklers worth P7,000, four silver fountain worth P600, and four boxes of crossfire fireworks worth P500 with a total of P23,200 apprehended by the Police Station 6.
Police Station 7 netted eight boga worth P2,000 while the Police Station 10 seized 50 firecrackers worth P1,500, 30 five star worth P270, 34 sparklers worth P1,738, four boxes of assorted firecrackers worth P2,692, and 14 boga worth P10,500 for a total of P16,700.
