BALER, Aurora – The provincial government suspended classes on all levels in Aurora due to inclement weather on Friday, Jan. 6.
Gov. Christian M. Noveras ordered the suspension of classes upon the recommendation of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration issued an orange heavy rainfall warning to ensure public welfare and safety of the people.
Under an orange rainfall warning, scattered to widespread flooding, including flash floods, and rain-induced landslides are expected, especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards.
Residents were advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards.
Meanwhile, six municipalities in Aurora were without electricity due to bad weather on Friday – Baler, Dinalungan, Dingalan, Dipaculao, Maria Aurora, and San Luis.
The Ditubo River in Dilasag is impassable to all types of vehicles while the Villa and Canili Roads and the Barangay Diteki Bridge are passable to light vehicles.
