At least 192K families affected by weather disturbances receive aid from DSWD
At least 192,188 families from regions affected by three weather disturbances have received assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

As of Thursday, Jan. 5, there were 161,145 families or 645,097 individuals distressed by the shear line in Regions V, VI, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, Caraga, and BARMM who already received aid from the agency.
Over P40 million worth of provisions have already been provided by DSWD Field Offices (FO) in the said regions since Dec. 26, it added.
Meanwhile, 22,851 families or 95,996 individuals from Regions V, VIII, X, XI, MIMAROPA, and Caraga who were affected by the low pressure area benefited from assistance which amounted to P2 million.
DSWD added that its FO in MIMAROPA also gave P2.8 million worth of relief goods to 6,907 families or 32,525 individuals in Oriental Mindoro and Palawan.
An estimated 1,285 families or 4,544 individuals from Cagayan and Isabela provinces who got displaced due to the northeast monsoon or amihan also received assistance from DSWD FO II.
The agency then assured the public that it will strengthen and improve its response operations to the affected regions.
