10,000 housing units to be constructed for ISFs, low-income earners of Baguio City
The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has signed an agreement with the Baguio City government for the construction of a township housing project that would benefit around 10,000 informal settler families (ISFs) and low-income earners.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar said the township project composed of 10 20-storey buildings, will be constructed in a 6.3 hectare land in Barangay Tupinao, Tuba, Benguet.

“This signing ceremony signals the start of our collaboration, our bond to help Baguio City residents realize their dream of owning decent, safe and affordable shelters. This MOU will serve as the foundation of our common goal of establishing sustainable township in the country’s summer capital,” said Acuzar.
He signed the agreement with top officials of Baguio City headed by Mayor Benjie Magalong.
The MOU with Baguio City LGU is the first entered into by DHSUD this year, and the 49th under the Marcos administration.
Acuzar has expressed optimism that the program will go full blast this year and the construction of housing projects would start within the first semester as he vowed sustained engagements with all stakeholders, particularly local government units (LGUs) from various parts of the country.
