CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- Marijuana plants valued at P120,000 were discovered in a secluded plantation in Sitio Diamante, Barangay Dalirig, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 4.
Major Harvey Sanchez, Manolo Fortich police chief, said in a phone interview on Thursday, Jan. 5, that the marijuana was discovered by individuals cleaning a lot in the area.
“The said individuals were tasked and paid to clean the area. While cleaning, they noticed that there were plants that seemed to be being taken cared of by someone else, and that’s the time they discovered,” Sanchez said in the vernacular.
“They wondered why there were people who had reached this very secluded area,” he added.
The plantation was reported to the local police who, in the the presence of Barangay Dalirig Councilor Robert Tomonglay, uprooted marijuana planted in 30 hills and approximately more or less four feet tall.
Uprooted marijuana has an estimated weight of one kilo with an estimated standard drug price of P120,000.
