ILOILO CITY — Two more towns in Iloilo have been affected by African Swine Fever (ASF).

The Iloilo Provincial Veterinary Office confirmed that hogs in Barangays Libertad and Merced in Banate and Barangay La Fortuna in Barotac Viejo are infected with ASF.
Nine samples taken in the two towns tested positive for ASF.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. extended the red zone areas to the two towns and issued an executive order on Wednesday, Jan. 5, banning the transportation and trading of live hogs, pork, or pork-based products in and out of Banate and Barotac Viejo.
Eleven towns in Iloilo have recorded ASF cases.

It spread to the municipalities of San Miguel, New Lucena, Santa Barbara, Leganes, Alimodian, and Mina.
