ILOILO CITY -- The top cop in Western Visayas region has expressed he will follow the orders of Secretary Benjamin Abalos of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

“As a good soldier, I will heed the call of the ," said Brigadier General Leo Francisco, director of Police Regional Office (PRO-6), in a statement Wednesday, Jan. 4.
BGen. Francisco made the statement as Abalos, in a press briefing also Wednesday, called for the courtesy resignation of all police generals and colonels who are allegedly involved in the illegal trade.
“I will answer the appeal of our Secretary. It is also our chance to clear our names and make a statement that we are supporting the programs and the transformation of our PNP organization,” said Francisco.
“Wala naman tayong dapat katakutan, lalabas at lalabas ang katotohanan. Let us trust the process of investigating who the rogue cops are," added Francisco.
BGen. Francisco though did not elaborate further when he will tender his courtesy resignation.
There are also no statements from the police directors in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental provinces as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod.
