Over P52-M assistance dispensed to shear line-affected regions nationwide
At least P52,417,028 worth of cash assistance was dispensed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), local government units, and other groups to various regions nationwide affected by heavy rains and flooding caused by the shear line.

This was according to the 6 p.m. report of the Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center on Wednesday, Jan. 4.
There were 161,145 families or 645,087 individuals from Regions 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Caraga, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao distressed by the weather disturbance as per the report.
DSWD said 6,604 families or 24,193 persons sought temporary shelter in 134 evacuation centers while 164 or 729 persons reside outside the evacuation centers.
The agency added that 615 houses were totally damaged while 3,584 were partially destroyed due to the weather conditions.
It also assured that the agency has P1,195,165,726 worth of stockpiles and P100,075,456 worth of Quick Response Fund ready to be distributed to the devastated areas.
