Mayor Along lauds Caloocan City police for arresting 2 most wanted persons
Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan on Wednesday, Jan. 4, lauded the members of the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) for arresting two most wanted persons in the city on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
"Sinasaluduhan po natin ang ating kapulisan, sa pangunguna ni PCol. Ruben Lacuesta. Sa pagpasok ng taon, mananatiling prayoridad ng ating administrasyon ang paglilinis ng listahan ng mga Most Wanted sa lungsod (We salute our police force led by PCol. Ruben Lacuesta. As the new year starts, our administration will continue to prioritize the cleaning of the list of the Most Wanted in the city," the Mayor said.
The CCPS identified those who were arrested as Renz Martin Phillip Tolentino, 20, the Northern Police District’s Top 10 District-Level Most Wanted; and Richard Divina Salmorin, 32, CCPS Top 7 Station-Level Most Wanted. Both suspects are residents of Caloocan City.
According to the police, Tolentino was arrested in Block 4 Lot 12 Road 33, Congressville, Brgy. 173 at around 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday by virtue of warrant of arrest for rape issued by Caloocan City Family Court Branch 1 Presiding Judge Barbara Hernandez on Sep. 30, 2022, with no bail recommended.
The CCPS also served the warrant of arrest for rape against Salmorin on the same day in Sitio Diwa St. Brgy. 178, Camarin, Caloocan City at around 11:30 p.m.
The warrant of arrest against Salmorin was also issued by Caloocan City Family Court Branch 1 Presiding Judge Barbara Hernandez on Oct. 24, 2022 with no bail recommended.
The operations were conducted by operatives led by CCPS Investigation and Detective Management Section Chief Maj. Jeraldson Rivera and Maj. Vilmer Miralles of the 4th Mobile Force Company Regional Mobile Force Battalion - National Capital Region Police Office.
The suspects were brought to the office of the IDMS- Warrant and Subpoena Section for temporary detention while the necessary documents are being prepared for the return of the warrants of arrests pending the issuance of a commitment order from the court of origin.
"Hindi po tayo magsasawang paulit-ulit na ipaalala na zero tolerance po tayo sa mga krimen, lalo na sa mga Most Wanted sa lungsod. Sa oras na mahuli po kayo, haharapin niyo po ang buong pwersa ng batas ( We will not get tired reiterating that we have zero tolerance for crimes, especially for the Most Wanted in the city. When you are caught, you will face the full force of the law)," Malapitan said.
"Katuwang ang CCPS, sisikapin nating gawing mas ligtas at mas payapa ang Caloocan. Asahan niyo po na patuloy tayong magsisikap para mapanatag ang ating mga kababayan (Together with the CCPS, we will work to make Caloocan safer and more peaceful. Expect that we will continue to work hard for the safety of our people)," the mayor added.
