Teen dies in Calbayog City fire

TACLOBAN CITY -- A 14-year-old boy died while another one was injured in a fire that gutted their house in Barangay Capoocan, Calbayog City, on Wednesday, Jan. 4.

The fatality was a student of the Calbayog City National High School while the injured was identified as Michael Montes.

Initial Investigation disclosed that the fire started in a house owned by Pastor Daniel Montes in Purok 5 around 1:48 a.m.

Three other families were affected in the fire with an estimated damage of P720,000.

The fire was put out at 2:55 a.m. The cause of the fire is still being determined.
