LPA enters PAR, may bring rain showers, thunderstorms over parts of Palawan, VisMin

The low pressure area (LPA) has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its 4 a.m. update on Wednesday, Jan. 4.

It was last seen 195 kilometers south of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

It is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over parts of Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or amihan may still bring cloudy skies with rains over the Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Aurora, and the rest of MIMAROPA while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains are expected within Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The state weather bureau warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains in these areas.

A gale warning is raised over the seaboards of Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and the Northern coasts of Quezon including the Northern and Eastern coasts of Polillo Islands.

It is also raised in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sue, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Kalayaan Islands.
