2 dead in Ilocos Sur motorcycle accidents

CAMP PRESIDENT QUIRINO, Ilocos Sur – A 25-year-old laborer and a 24-year-old man died in motorcycle accidents in San Juan, this province, on Monday, Jan. 2.

Police said Muhammad Rakim, 24, died while his back rider, Christian Kim Vaquilar, 20, was injured when the motorcycle they were riding plunged into a creek on the provincial road in Barangay Cabanglutan.

Rakim sustained a serious head injury while Vaquilar was recuperating in a hospital in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur.

Bryan Karl Ujano, 25, a laborer, died when his motorcycle crashed into the rear an Elf truck on the national highway in Barangay Bacsil.

Police said a follow-up investigation on the two accidents are ongoing.
