PCSO releases P96.9-M worth of mandatory contribution to 3 gov't agencies
A mandatory contribution worth P96.9 million was dispensed by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to three government agencies in a ceremony on Monday, Jan. 30.

The contributions were turned over to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), and Philippine Air Force (PAF), PCSO said.
PCSO General Manager Mel Robles handed the checks worth P33.1 million, P136,371, and P63.6 million to officials from CHED, PSC, and PAF, respectively.

The amount received by PAF will be used to purchase additional medical equipment for Brigadier General Benito N. Ebuen Air Base Hospital in Cebu, Wallace Air Base Station Medical Infirmary in La Union, Edwin Andrews Air Base Hospital in Zamboanga City, and Major Danilo A. Atienza Air Base Hospital in Cavite.
Present at the ceremony were PCSO Charity Assistance Department Manager Marissa O. Medrano, Treasury Department Officer in Charge Division Chief Christine D. Viernesto, PAF Medical Director Colonel Maria Socorro E. Posadas MC, CHED Director Rogelio T. Galera, and PSC Commissioner Olivia "Bong" Coo.

This initiative was in accordance with PCSO's mandate of allocating 30 percent of its income to charity services, 55 percent to game prizes, and the remaining 15 percent to operations.
