The Malabon City local government was recognized for its anti-illegal drugs drive during the 2022 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Awards at the Luxent Hotel, Quezon City on Tuesday, Jan. 31.
ADAC Performance Awards is an event initiated by the Department of Interior and Local Government-National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) to honor the exemplary performance in the implementation of anti-illegal drugs programs of local government units in Metro Manila.
"Tayo po ay nakakuha ng 95 functionality points sa pagsasagawa ng 2021 ADAC Performance Audit kung saan kinilala ang ating pagsisikap na maitaguyod ang anti-illegal drug campaign dito sa Malabon (We obtained 95 functionality points in the conduct of the 2021 ADAC Performance Audit, where our efforts in the implementation of the anti-illegal drugs campaign here in Malabon were recognized)," Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval said in a Facebook post.
Sandoval thanked the departments that contributed to strengthening of the city's campaign against illegal drugs.
"Hindi natin makakamit ang lahat ng ito kung hindi dahil sa kanilang kasipagan (We would not have achieved all this without their hard work)," she added.
The city government was also recognized for passing the 2021 ADAC Performance Audit Assessment with a score of 90 points.
Last year, the city government said it cooperated with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), City Social Welfare And Development Department (CSWDD) and Coordinator of the City of Malabon Anti-Drug Abuse Office (CMADAO), to grant livelihood assistance to recovering persons who used drugs (RPWUDs) to support their transformation to become productive citizens.
It added that it also actively participated in the "Buhay Ingatan, Droga Ayawan” (BIDA) program or the official anti-illegal drugs campaign of the DILG.
