Taguig's Covid-19 cases rise, lowest ADAR recorded for January

The number of Covid-19 cases in Taguig slightly rose in the past week but the city government recorded the lowest average daily attack rate (ADAR) for the month of January.

Data from the Taguig City government showed that from Jan. 23 to 29, three new Covid-19 cases were recorded, up from one from Jan. 16 to 22.

It also tallied two deaths and 33 patients who have recovered from Covid-19 in the past week.

There were 42 patients who were admitted to different Taguig hospitals, up by 23 patients or 131.5 percent from 19 confined patients from Jan. 16 to 22. One patient was classified as a severe case.

Bed occupancy rate in Taguig hospitals stood at 23.73 percent based on 42 patients admitted out of 177 total beds, equivalent to low utilization rate.

The Taguig City government said the ADAR per 100,000 stood at 0.17 based on the seven-day average of new cases per 100,000 population.

An ADAR lower than six is considered low risk, six to 17 is considered moderate risk while more than 18 is high risk.

The city government said Taguig remained to be low risk based on ADAR and available beds in hospitals for Covid-19 patients.
