This is the first time I actually got to use a mouse with over a dozen buttons. In fact, I used to mock such designs, thinking they were overkill in some way. Clearly, I haven’t been playing any MMO games and haven’t spent enough time with MOBAs to fully appreciate the value of macro keys. The Razer Naga V2 Pro has shown me otherwise.
If you’ve been playing MMOs and MOBA for a long time, and have always been a big fan of Razer, or you’re someone who knows their name and is willing to check any of their products out, then you already know what you’re signing up for. You already know it’s going to be a great experience and you know why all these buttons are important.
So yes, let’s just get it out of the way, this is an absolute buy for me.
On top of everything, the Naga V2 Pro is one of the most comfortable mice I have ever used. The ergonomics is sleek, and all the buttons are easy to reach. Whenever I move around, my wrist and fingers are relaxed. The scroller is firm enough to give you a sense not to over-scroll through your menus during intense games.

Now, it’s been a while since I've gamed seriously. Maybe the last time I did was before CS had “Go” in its title. And most of these years have been spent on much chiller games like Stardew Valley and Terraria (okay, probably not that chill). Nonetheless, I had to reset a couple of passwords to log into old accounts to play a couple of games with the Naga V2 Pro. I’m not going to say I suddenly gained mad skills. I was still a total noob that would get pwn’d (see what I’m talking about here?), but having a very sleek and comfortable mouse like the Razer Naga V2 Pro makes the experience worthwhile. Makes me think I can get my game on and improve over time.
Speaking on the macro keys earlier, the Naga V2 Pro is versatile. The side plates can be replaced with other plates that contain different sets of buttons. There’s the average two buttons, six, and 12. They are attached via magnet, so switching them out is extremely fast and easy. So they would work for all situations that you need it for.
In my case for Terraria I was able to use my items much easier during Legendary Mode. I’ve had my cousin, who is young and more experienced in modern FPS, check out the Naga V2. It took them a while to get used to the additional buttons but once they got it, they shared how convenient it was to have, and like me before, assumed the design was overkill, but turned out the total opposite, which is a great thing, I think.
Besides using it for gaming, the Naga V2 Pro is an excellent mouse for productivity. I was able to assign multiple key sequences such as copy and paste, phrases, and whatnot. I had my wife try it out herself, replacing her USB macro keyboard, and she found the experience significantly more useful.
Razer says battery life lasts up to 150 hours when using the HyperSpeed Wireless and about 300 hours on Bluetooth. I haven’t experienced this myself, since the time I’ve only charged the Naga V2 Pro once and it’s been over a week and I’m still using it. So, sure, battery life seems to go over 100 hours.
