EPD seizes over P780,000 worth of shabu in Pasig buy-bust

Eastern Police District (EPD) operatives seized a total of P788,120 worth of illegal drugs from a high value individual (HVI) and her cohort in a buy-bust on Jan. 27 in Barangay Manggahan, Pasig City.

The report submitted to EPD director Brig. Gen. Wilson Asueta identified the suspects as Leah Boston, 29, listed as a HVI; and Diosdado Mallari, 60.

According to the police investigation, surveillance activities were conducted by the EPD and members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), leading up to the buy-bust operation.

The suspects were arrested in the buy-bust operation at around 4 p.m. at No. 229 Peras St., Napico in Barangay Manggahan, Pasig City.

Confiscated from the suspects were four transparent plastic sachets -- one knot-tied and three heat-sealed -- containing suspected shabu. In total, they weighed around 116 grams, with an estimated market price of P788,120.

The confiscated evidence was submitted to the EPD for laboratory examination.

Boston and Mallari were turned over to the EPD Forensic Unit for a drug test, then transferred to the Rizal Medical Hospital for medical examination.

The suspects are detained at the Pasig City Custodial Facility.

They are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
