DOH reports 1,206 new Covid-19 cases in the past week


The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday, Jan. 30 a total of 1,206 new Covid-19 cases recorded during the past week.

In its weekly case bulletin, DOH said that the daily average cases are currently at 172 which is 36 percent lower than the cases on Jan. 16 to Jan. 22.

DOH also recorded one case tagged under severe and critical cases which is 0.08 percent of new Covid-19 cases. Currently, there are 456 severe and critical admissions which is 9.5 percent of total Covid-19 admissions.

On the other hand, 330 out of 2,359 or 14.0 percent of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds are being used, while 3,606 out of 18,467 or 19.5 percent of non-ICU beds are being utilized.

Meanwhile, DOH also verified 74 more deaths due to Covid-19 during the past week. It mentioned that six deaths occurred on Jan. 16 to Jan. 29.

Of the 74 deaths, 8 occurred in January 2023, 19 in December 2022, six in November 2022, one in March 2022, five in February 2022, four in January 2022, one in November 2021, four in October 2021, 9 in September 2021, three in August 2021, three in July 2021, five in June 2021, one in May 2021, one in April 2021, one in February 2021, one in January 2021, one in December 2020, and one in September 2020.

In terms of Covid-19 vaccination, a total of 73,834,420 individuals have been fully vaccinated while 21,344,106 have received boosters or additional doses.
