The local government of Parañaque City received on Monday, Jan. 30, a certificate of commendation from the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) for being one of the pioneers in promoting ease of doing business in the city.
Mayor Eric Olivarez thanked ARTA Director General Ernesto Perez for citing the city as one of the local government units (LGUs) that pioneered the streamlining and simplification of business permit and licensing procedures, and setting up of the Electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS).
"We thank the ARTA for this recognition and we salute our team in Parañaque City for paving the way to improve the business climate. Rest assured that we shall continue the pathway towards an efficient and effective delivery of public service," Olivarez said.
He said that during its annual compliance inspection led by Perez, the ARTA underscored the streamlining efforts in the business permit procedure of the city government.
The mayor added the compliance inspection is part of the mechanisms to evaluate LGUs performance as required under RA 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business Act of 2018.
Olivarez said Perez lauded the various innovations implemented by the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) under Atty. Melanie Soriano- Malaya, specifically its online services to clients in the renewal of business permits and licenses.
“This recognition is a testament to the efforts made by Parañaque City to upscale the level of government service to its constituents. As one of the pioneers in promoting ease of doing business, we are optimistic that this will continue to provide inspiration to all LGUs in the Philippines,” Perez said during the awarding of certificate of commendation.
