Baguio City chills at 12.2°C


Amid the continuous surge of the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” Baguio City’s air temperature dropped to 12.2°C.

Based on the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (PAGASA) latest data, Baguio City’s air temperature was recorded at 4:50 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29.

Completing the list of areas that logged the lowest air temperatures on Sunday include Basco, Batanes (13.3°C); Calayan, Cagayan (17.2°C); Tanay, Rizal (18.2°C); Tuguegarao City, Cagayan (18.4°C); Aparri, Cagayan (18.8°C); and Abucay, Bataan (19.1°C).

PAGASA Weather Specialist Grace Castañeda, in a public weather forecast, said the northeast monsoon is currently blowing cold winds and causing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Metro Manila, and the rest of Luzon.
