5 arrested in Parañaque drug sting

Two high-value individuals (HVIs) and three others were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by members of the Southern Police District Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and District Intelligence Division (DID) in Parañaque City on Saturday, Jan. 28.

SPD director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Brion Kraft, identified the arrested suspects as HVIs John Bernard Gayol, 31, and Ma. Crislyn Navarro, 24; their cohorts James Jason Bagaforo, 32; his brother James Jefferson Bagafor, 24; and Bernard Tolibas, 25.

He said the suspects were arrested around 6:00 p.m. at a room of Laguna Bay Inn on East Service Road in Barangay San Martin de Porres.

The SPD chief said members of the SPD DEU and DID, in coordination with Parañaque City Police Sub-Station 8, conducted an entrapment operation against Gayol and Navarro, allegedly drug pushers tagged as HVIs.

Kraft said confiscated from the suspects were 27 grams of shabu placed in seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets worth P183,600.

He said that aside from shabu, also recovered from the suspects were a cellular phone, P6,000 boodle money, and P500 buy-bust money.

The suspects are now detained at the SPD-DEU custodial facility. They were charged with possession of illegal drugs.
