The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said it has deported a total of 1,339 foreigners in 2022.
BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said the unwanted foreign visitors were blacklisted and barred from returning for various violation of immigration laws.
Based on the BI data, topping the list of those deported were Chinese with 1,104 deportees; followed by South Koreans with 87; Vietnamese with 39; Americans and Nigerians, 19 and 12 respectively.
The BI chief said most of them were cited for overstaying and violating the conditions of their stay.
He said that despite the onslaught of Covid-19 and travel restrictions, the BI continued its arrest and deportation of illegal aliens.
"We remain relentless in our drive to rid the country of aliens who abuse our hospitality and pose a threat to our society," said Tansingco.
