No Filipino hurt in latest air strike in Gaza

No Filipino is reported hurt following the air strikes launched by Israel against Gaza, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said over the weekend.

DFA said it is closely monitoring the situation and the welfare of Filipinos in Gaza and southern Israel through the Philippine Embassy in Amman and in Tel Aviv.

"Our Embassy in Tel Aviv has issued an advisory over the concerned areas," the agency added.

This developed after Israel launched multiple air attacks on Gaza Strip a day after its forces killed nine Palestinians in the Jenin refugee camp.

The Israel army reportedly said the air strikes were its retaliation to two rockets earlier fired towards Israel.

Currently, there are about 29,000 Filipinos in Israel while there are about 100 Filipinos in Gaza.
