Muntinlupa City recorded the fourth lowest number of dengue cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) in one week.
Data showed that from Jan. 1 to 7 this year, Muntinlupa registered seven dengue cases with zero deaths.

Based on its estimated population of 553,146, Muntinlupa has a dengue attack rate of 0.13 per 10,000 population, the fourth lowest in the NCR.
The NCR recorded a total of 242 dengue cases from Jan. 1 to 7, or an average attack rate of 0.17 per 10,000 population.
Quezon City had the highest number of dengue cases at 49 followed by Valenzuela, 36; Manila, 21; Las Pinas, 20; Taguig, 16; Makati, 15; Malabon, 14; Marikina, 13; and Paranaque and Pasay, 10 each.
Despite the low cases, the Muntinlupa City government has advised residents to protect themselves from dengue.
Dr. Juancho Bunyi, head of the Muntinlupa City Health Office (CHO), said they are continuing with fogging operations as requested by communities.
“Up to now we don't have deaths secondary to dengue and our health centers are on full alert to treat patients with early warning signs of dengue fever,” he said.
The CHO reminded residents to follow the 4S Strategy against dengue: Search and Destroy, Seek immediate consultation, Self-Protection and Say "yes" to space spraying.
