TACLOBAN CITY – The Philippine Coast Guard rescued seven Chinese crew of a distressed fishing vessel in the sea of Suluan Island, Guiuan, Eastern Samar, on Friday night, Jan. 27.
The PCG Command Center received a distress call from FV Kai Da 899 due to damaged hull around 2:09 p.m. on Jan. 26.
The BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) proceeded to the boat’s location to conduct a rescue operation.
After rescuing the crew and ensuring that they were in good physical condition, BRP Cabra towed the vessel to the Tacloban City port.
Upon arrival at the port, the PCG extended the necessary help and medical attention to the FV Kai Da crew.
Representatives from the Bureau of Customs and a K-9 unit were also sent to check on the vessel.
