Parañaque LGU prepares activities for 25th Cityhood Anniversary celebration

The Parañaque city government prepared several programs and projects for the celebration of the 25th Cityhood Anniversary on Feb. 13.

Mayor Eric Olivarez said the cityhood anniversary celebration kicked off with e presentation of candidates of “Gandang Mamita and Gwapitong Papito 2023” and their “Mama Bears” on Monday, Jan. 23.

Olivarez said the “Gandang Mamita and Gwapiting Papito 2023” is a pageant for senior citizens from 16 barangays in the city.

He said the search for “Ginoo and Binibining Parañaque 2023”, meanwhile, is also open to all beautiful ladies.

Olivarez added that aside from the beauty pageants, the city government also prepared other activities for the residents to enjoy the celebration of the 25th cityhood anniversary.

Olivarez said the Sunduan Dolls Contest and Exhibit and the Sunduan Dress Fashion show will be held on Feb. 6 at Ayala Malls Manila Bay.

He said the other activities are academic quiz bee at Parañaque City College on Feb. 3, Parañaque Liberation Day on Feb. 4, Fun Run and Zumba to be held at the Manila Memorial Park on Feb. 5.

A thanksgiving Mass for the 25th cityhood anniversary will be held at the City Hall grounds on Feb. 6 before the flag raising ceremony and conduct of coop tiange.

The mayor said a drum and lyre competition and mega job fair will be conducted on Feb. 7 at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, and on Feb. 8 the city will present the Lauya flavors of Parañaque at SM Bicutan.

Olivarez said “Kasalang Bayan” will be conducted on Feb. 9 at the Parañaque Sports Complex and Komedya ng San Dionisio on the same date at 4:00 p.m. at SM BF.

The blessing of city’s Ospital ng Parañaque 2 will be on Feb. 10, while the awarding of outstanding tax payers and the Natatanging Parañaqueño testimonial dinner and serenade will be held at East Ocean Palace.

The mayor said the “Padyak sa Parañaque sa Kalusugan” active transport health promotion for diet and physical activity will be held at 5:00 .m. at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, and the coronation night of “Gandang Mamita and Gwapitong Papito 2023” and “Ginoo and Binibining Parañaque 2023” at the Parañaque Sports Complex on Feb. 11.

Olivarez said “Sayaw ng Pagbati” dance presentation and folk dance competition will be held on Feb. 12 at SM Sucat followed by a fireworks display.

He said that on the day of 25th cityhood anniversary, a Grand Sunduan activity will be held at St. Andrews Cathedral in Barangay La Huerta followed by a concert at the Parañaque City Hall grounds.
