K-pop boy band TXT sets goals with new album 'The Name Chapter: Temptation'

K-pop idol group Tomorrow X Together (TXT) made their comeback on Jan. 27 with a new album and aim to top the Billboard chart.

TXT members are ready to promote their new album “The New Chapter: Temptation,” containing the main track “Sugar Rush Ride.”

During a press conference in Seoul on Jan. 26, TXT members said their aim is to reach out to more people this year and grab the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

"Because of the pandemic, we could not do much before. We could meet with MOAs for quite a while. There were times when we questioned ourselves if we were doing okay as artists," said Hueningkai.

He added, "But last year, we really spent time like an artist. We had our long-awaited offline concert and world tour. We are going to work harder to make 2023 the year of TXT. "

Soobin said their new album “depicts the story of youth being shaken in the face of temptations. The boys are determined to grow into adulthood but are tempted by the freedom and pleasure that lay before them. It’s about these boys becoming stronger and achieving growth as they overcome these temptations.”

About their new year’s resolutions, Hueningkai said, “This year I want to solidify our presence to more people and show them who Tomorrow X Together really is.”

“We have prepared this album for a very long time so it became an album with more quality,” said Taehyun.

When asked how their new album represents their growth as individuals and as a group, Beyomgyu explained, “We have made a lot of new attempts and I think they have all become our experiences and skills. As we tried a new concept or something new, we had the capacity to pull it off like our own. Because of that we were able to produce a more quality album.”

Before TXT released “The New Chapter: Temptation,” the album garnered 2.6 million copies in pre-orders, a record for the group.

“I was really surprised by the news,:” Hueningkai said. “I could see that we are really loved by so many people. I would like to thank MOAs for giving us these meaningful results. I would love to pay back all the love with good music and good performances.”

On the goals they want to achieve through the new album, Hueningkai said they want to achieve the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

“People say dream big. So if it’s possible, we want to top the Billboard 200 chart. Yeonjun is the emcee for the Korean TV music show ‘Inkigayo’ and we want to receive first prize on this show,” he said.
