Small onions sold at P50 per kilo in Calasiao in Pangasinan

CALASIAO, Pangasinan – Small onions were sold at P50 per kilo in this town on market day on Thursday, Jan. 26.

Vegetable vendor Baby Doloque, 52, a resident of Tocok West, Bayambang, purchased onions from a farm in San Gabriel, Bayambang and was immediately sold out.

This was the commodity’s lowest price here ever. It is uncertain if this price will remain in the next few days.

Doluque said competition from imported onions could be the reason why onion prices here have dropped further. On Jan. 24, onions were sold for P240 per kilo.
