Parañaque to hold 'Padyak Parañaque sa Kalusugan'

Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez is urging bike enthusiasts to join the “Padyak Parañaque sa Kalusugan” activity as part of the 25th Cityhood Anniversary on Feb. 13.

Olivarez said the “Padyak Parañaque sa Kalusugan”, a project of the City Health Office (CHO) under Dr. Olga Virtusio, will be held on Feb. 11 at Ayala Malls Manila Bay at 5:00 a.m.

He said the activity is a family event to promote cycling and other forms of active transport as excellent means of commuting, increasing physical activity to prevent non-communicable diseases, reducing exposure to Covid-19, and to establish more protected active transport lanes.

The mayor said the event is free and open to 800 participants for ages 6 and above. Those interested in joining the event may register to bit.ly/PadyakPQUE.

Olivarez said the city government will be providing two routes for those aged 6 to 17 years old and 18 years old and above.

He said the route for 6 to 17 years old, which is about 2.60 km, will start at Central Garden in Ayala Malls left to Aseana Avenue, right to J.W. Diokno Boulevard, right to Bradco Avenue, right to Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, and return to Central Garden.

The mayor said the route for participants aged 18 and above will be 8.18 km that will start at Central Garden in Ayala Malls, left to Aseana Avenue, right to right to J.W. Diokno Boulevard, right to Bradco Avenue, right to Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, right to New Seaside, then again going back to J.W. Diokno Boulevard, right to Aseana Avenue, and right to Diosdado Macapagal in going back to Central Garden.

Olivarez said raffle prizes await all participants, and winners will be randomly generated through an electronic draw to be determined on Feb. 11 and must be present during the event.
