More than P750,000 worth of illegal drugs seized in QC buy-busts

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) seized P758,710 worth of illegal drugs from 23 drug suspects in a series of buy-bust operations conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

According to QCPD Batasan Police Station (PS 6), an informant reported an illegal drug peddling activity at 9:30 p.m. along IBP Road in Brgy. Batasan Hills, Quezon City.

PS 6 operatives launched an entrapment, leading to the arrest of the suspect, identified as William Santos, 36, of Brgy. Batasan Hills. Confiscated from him were 75 grams of shabu worth P510,000, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money.

Another buy-bust operation was conducted by QCPD Masambong Police Station (PS 2) that resulted in the arrest of Monica Delasan, 30; Jay Ian Bismonte, 19; Patrick Allen Bosque, 34, all residents of Old Brgy. San Antonio Quezon City; and Francis Pasco, 33, of Brgy. San Antonio, Quezon City.

Police said Delasan was listed as the sixth drug priority target of the station.

The suspects were collared at 11:20 p.m. on Bansalangin St. in Brgy. Veterans Village, Quezon City.

Police recovered more or less 25 grams of suspected shabu worth P170,000, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money.

Meanwhile, three suspects were arrested and P34,000 worth of shabu was seized by QCPD Fairview Police Station (PS 5) at about 10:30 p.m. on Commonwealth Ave. corner Don Jose St., Brgy. Greater Fairview, Quezon City.

PS 5 identified the suspects as Dionisio del Rosario, 47; Marilou del Rosario, 49; Ruben Umali, 42; and Alexander Manrique, 44.

In another entrapment operation conducted by Novaliches Police Station (PS 4), Francis Borbon, 22, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. at the corner of Quirino Highway and Nitang Ave. in Brgy. Gulod, Novaliches, Quezon City.

Police confiscated 0.10 grams of alleged marijuana worth P510, as well as the suspect's Honda Wave 100 motorcycle, and driver’s license.

QCPD Anonas Police Station (PS 9) also arrested four suspects identified as Anicia Costan, 45; Arthur Amorato, 42; Adrian Amorato, 34, all residents of Brgy. Quirino 2C, Quezon City; and Kevin Noel, 30, at about 6:30 p.m.

The suspects were apprehended on Pajo St. in Brgy. Quirino 2C, Quezon City, where one gram of shabu valued at P6,800 was confiscated.

Another suspect identified as Junard Guillermo was arrested by QCPD Galas Police Station (PS 11) in a buy-bust operation at 6:10 a.m. on Mazaraga St. corner Kaliraya St. in Brgy. Tatalon, Quezon City. More or less one gram of shabu worth P6,800, was confiscated from the suspect.

QCPD Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station (PS 13) nabbed Francisco Dapita, Johnny Dapita, and Jeffrey Pilar, at about 10:30 p.m. at Purok 7, Blk. 20, Lot 14, Phase 1, Lupang Pangako, Brgy. Payatas B, Quezon City.

The three suspects yielded three grams of shabu worth P20,400.

Joint operatives of QCPD Kamuning Police Station (PS 10), QCPD Cubao Police Station (PS 7), and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency- National Capital Region (PDEA-NCR) also conducted a sting around 11:00 p.m. at Brgy. Kaunlaran, Quezon City.

The operation resulted in the arrest of suspects Nhel Jake Argel Tica, 22; Neil Ryan Bajog, 41; Ferdinand Lao, 58; and Norizma Lao, 60; and Augusto Osumo, 54.

Confiscated from the five suspects were 1.5 grams of shabu worth P10,200.

All suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.
