A ranking congressman in the House of Representatives believes that Erwin Tulfo would still be an asset to the Marcos administration.

"I think it will be a good decision of to make Erwin Tulfo a part of his adminstration," said Commission on Appointments (CA) member, Surigao del Sur 2nd district Rep. Johnny Pimentel.

Pimentel had this to say even as Tulfo, the erstwhile Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) chairman, failed to get the CA's confirmation of his appointment to the Cabinet.

"I certainly believe that former Secretary Tulfo will be an asset on this administration considering that he did a very good job as DSWD secretary in delivering basic social services to our countrymen," reckoned Pimentel, a senior Partido Demokratiko ng Pilipinas-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) stalwart in the House.

Despite Tulfo's non-confirmation by the CA, Marcos recently came out with a statement saying that he want to "retain" Tulfo in his administration.

Tulfo's confirmation bid was hounded by citizenship issues. He is s former broadcast journalist.
