By next month, Grab users can use mobile wallet GCash to pay for ride-hailing and delivery services.

GCash will be officially available as a direct mode of payment on the Grab platform this February, enabling users to avoid transfer fees of P50 per transaction.

Grab users can simply choose GCash as their payment method and transact cashless for GrabCar, GrabFood, GrabMart, GrabExpress and other Grab services with a few taps on their smartphones.

"Once again, we make the lives of Filipinos better by delivering a more convenient and secure way to pay for their rides, food and grocery deliveries," says GCash president and CEO Martha Sazon.

Notably, Grab customers also get exclusive deals and special treats when they pay for their transactions using GCash.

"Empowering our stakeholders in a digital-first economy is key to wider cashless adoption in the country," stressed Grab Philippines Country Head Grace Vera Cruz.

"We are accelerating digital transformation and look forward to collaborating with like-minded partners, such as GCash on this agenda," she added.

Earlier, the partners have already established a strategic collaboration, allowing users to transfer money from their GCash wallet to their GrabPay wallet, and vice-versa.
