The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Thursday, Jan. 26, that it has finished a road-concreting project in San Luis, Aurora which is seen to improve the province's economy and enhance the delivery of public service to residents.

DPWH Undersecretary Robert Bernardo noted that the concreting of the municipal road has brought convenience to the riding public and made the delivery of goods and services reach faster to its intended destinations.
He stated that the P19.80 million project involves the construction of a 6.7 meter-wide portland cement concrete pavement (PCCP) and provision of paved shoulders with lined canals and catchwalls.
DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller Tolentino said that the road improvement project on the Barangay Dibut section was done to complement the paved 1.47 kilometer portion of the road section.
He assured that the residents of coastal community in Barangay Dibut will no longer need to travel rough and rugged roads or pass through the adjacent sea to reach the San Luis town center once the whole stretch of the municipal road is concreted.
The road leading to Barangay Dibut connects the travelers not only in San Luis town but also in Aurora’s provincial capital of Baler.
With this, Tolentino explained that the provincial government is now provided with easier access to deliver the much-needed social services and facilitate the delivery of local agricultural products like bananas and coconuts to the locality and nearby provinces.
The 615-lineal-meter portion of the 2.88-kilometer Dibalo-Dibut Municipal Road was undertaken by the DPWH Aurora District Engineering Office (DEO).
