Dani Barretto, who uploaded video of Alex Gonzaga smearing cake icing on waiter, breaks silence on controversy

Dani Barretto has opened up about uploading the video of social media superstar Alex Gonzaga who smeared cake icing on the waiter during her birthday last Sunday.

In a tweet uploaded by ABS-CBN on Jan. 25, Dani said in an interview with Mario Dumaual of TV Patrol that it was not her intention to hurt anyone or sow controversy during the birthday celebration of Alex.

Dani said she regretted uploading the video that put her good friend in a bad light.

"I do have regrets because nakasakit ako ng tao. Wala po sa intensyon ko ang makasakit lalo na po on her birthday.

"Siguro ang pinakamabigat sa akin ay nakasimula ako ng isang bagay na hindi ko naman ginusto. Very important sa amin ang pamilya Gonzaga. They are very loving to our family.

"Alex is a very good friend of my sister. So talagang mahal na mahal ng pamilya namin ang mga Gonzaga and vice versa. So masakit talaga sa akin yung nakasakit ako ng tao sa video na yun," she said.

Dani also said that she already reached out to Alex.

"Wala po akong ibanhg kinausap or wala po akong ibang ginawa kundi I reached out to her first and apologized to her first. Kaya lang hindi ako nagsasalita kasi ayoko na po talaga siyang palakihin.

"Ayoko na po talaga pagusapan para move on na po tayo sa issue. Okay na po kami ni Alex wala po kaming ill-feeling toward each other.

Alex has also apologized to the waiter. "I'm a changed person," she told her sister Toni Gonzaga during a concert.
