A bomb threat hit a school in Quezon City, forcing its teachers and students to evacuate their classrooms on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 25.
According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), Mrs. Christina Palma, assistant principal of San Francisco High School in Barangay Sto. Cristo received a message through the Messenger app from one John Keven Mangahas alarming the school administration to evacuate those inside the school premises.
“May mga teroristang nakapasok sa school nyo, at maglagay Sila Ng mga Bomba sa mga building. Paalisij nyon na lahat ang nga estudyante bago pa yan sumabog. Madami mamamatay na kabataan," the message read.
A teacher also found an abandoned bag near the stairway at the third floor of the school’s senior high school building.
The incident occurred at around 1 p.m., the QCPD said.
Upon receiving the report about the incident, the QCPD deployed personnel to the area to secure the premises. All the students and teachers were also evacuated.
The police conducted an investigation and recovered the bag.
The cops later said that the bag has no hazardous materials and only contains notebooks and a lunch box of a student.
On Monday, Jan. 23, students and teachers of New Era Elementary School were also alarmed by a bomb threat inside the school.
The police found no explosives after a thorough inspection and search in the area.
