Man arrested for gun possession in Muntinlupa

A man was arrested by the police for illegal possession of a firearm in Muntinlupa on Jan. 25.

According to Muntinlupa police, the suspect, identified as Reynar Jacinto, 34, was nabbed at PNR Site in Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa at about 1 a.m.

Members of the Muntinlupa Police Intelligence Section were conducting an anti-criminality operation in the area when they saw Jacinto on a sidewalk holding a firearm.

Confiscated from Jacino was a .38-caliber revolver without a serial number and loaded with four pieces of live ammunition with no pertinent documents.

The evidence was turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for ballistics examination.

The police said the suspect will be charged with illegal possession of a firearms and ammunition under Republic Act 10591 (The Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
