Janina San Miguel returns to pageantry

Remember Janina San Miguel?

Now 33 years old and married, the former beauty queen was spotted trying out for the first-ever Mrs. Face of Tourism Philippines.

A video that surfaced on social media shows a more confident Janina.

According to her, she wanted to join the pageant to “have an impact" on the country.

Janina also noted how she thinks her "courage, perseverance, and patience" will take her far.

She first gained notice in 2008 as a 17-year-old Binibining Pilipinas candidate.

Not for a good reason though.

In the Q&A portion, Janina stuttered and fumbled for the right words seemingly unable to express her thoughts, going on to create quite a splash.

A video of the same could still be seen on TikTok.

Janina was eventually named Miss World Philippines.

She resigned the post, however, citing personal reasons.
